What about those needles?
You might feel a range of sensations from nothing, to a momentary sensation as the needle is inserted. Sometimes the desired effect is a heavy, distended feeling that follows the insertion. You will find the other therapies offered here to be helpful should you not want needle therapy.
As the needles are inserted, your body starts to re-establish the healing process. The ancients used terms such as Blood and Qi, and these terms are still in common usage. Modern research studies use the western language of anatomy/physiology (circulation of blood, hormones, lymph, and nerve impulses) to describe the physical changes seen after the use of Chinese medicine and acupuncture needles. For research, go to Google Scholar, or the journals of Chinese or Japanese medicine.
